The new World War I Memorial in Washington, DC is now beginning construction.

This $40M project will commemorate the heroism of 4.7M Americans who served in the Great War and will incorporate parts of the existing memorial on site. A 60-foot-long, 10-foot-high bronze figure sculpture titled “A Soldier’s Journey,” by artist Sabin Howard, will be the centerpiece of the renovated 1.76-acre landscape. The memorial will feature a revivified reflection pool, an ice rink, west terrace, below grade structure, sculpture wall, and kiosk.

Henry Adams provided the MEP engineering design for the new 78,400 SF memorial at DC’s Pershing Park.
