Under an on-call contract as the prime consultant, Henry Adams provided the electrical engineering design for the replacement of the emergency generator.
The task order consisted of the removal of the existing 35kW generator and skid-mounted fuel tank located in the lower level boiler room; installation of a new natural gas generator with an outdoor, sound attenuated enclosure; installation of 480/277V, 150A automatic transfer switch, installation of 150' feeder from generator to wireway (35' direct buried conduit and 115' run exposed in mechanical room); installation of two 480V, 100A fused switches for the wireway; fenced enclosure for a small generator yard (10' x 15'), installation of approximately 1,500' of branch circuit wiring and natural gas piping for the generator. No phasing or temporary generator was required for the installation.
