Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Solley Elementary School

Henry Adams provided the MEP engineering design for the new 9,000 SF kindergarten addition to the existing 72,000 SF Solley Elementary School. A building model was created in Revit.

The mechanical engineering design included a gas-fired packaged rooftop variable volume air conditioning unit, variable volume air terminal units with electric heating coils, a central toilet exhaust fan, a ductless split air conditioning unit for the IT Closet, and an open architecture automatic temperature control system. The plumbing engineering design included a combination of downspout and internal roof drainage for storm water, under slab sanitary and vent, natural gas, domestic cold water, and domestic hot water. Each classroom incorporated a countertop sink with bubbler and a toilet room.

The electrical engineering design included routing new security and paging, power and communication wiring from the existing building main electrical room to the IDF Room and Electrical Room in the new addition to serve the lighting, power, security and paging systems.
