GSA, Upgrade Electrical Service to 1724 F Street NW

Henry Adams provided Electrical Service Upgrade for a 55,000 SF Federal office building occupied by the White House Executive Offices. The design upgraded a 1,500-amp service to a 2,500-amp service and replaced existing distribution panel-boards serving the electrical risers through the building. The design required a phased construction package to minimize electrical outage time during replacement. A reduced height switchboard was required to address the limited physical space available in the electrical room. The electrical service heavy up required Pepco coordination that allowed reuse of existing incoming electrical duct bank from manhole to avoid extensive site work. HVAC cooling was added to the electrical room.
