Hospice of the Chesapeake, In-Patient Care Center

Henry Adams provided the MEP engineering and fire protection design services for a new 14,000 SF 14-bed In-Patient Care Center for Hospice of the Chesapeake. Hospice of Chesapeake offered two care facilities that could only house eight patients at a time. The new 14-bed In-Patient Care Center seeks to help the Hospice of Chesapeake provide care to more than eight patients at a time.

The mechanical design featured: the performance of load calculation; the establishment of appropriate room air balances and ventilation rates; the selection of efficient mechanical systems; and, the preparation of new work drawings and specifications. The electrical design featured: load calculations to ascertain the new required electrical service; emergency power properly sized and indicated as determined by the Owner’s and minimum code requirements. The plumbing design featured new sanitary, storm, as well as domestic hot and cold water systems required for new plumbing fixtures and building equipment.
